Today Pavitra Ekadashi and SriSri Radha Krsna’s Jhulan Yatra begins

(please note that the Ekadashi program today at SriSri Radha Damodarji’s residence is cancelled)

Dear devotees,

Hare Krsna
Dandvat pranam, Jai Srila Prabhupad.

Today is Pavitra Ekadashi and also from today starts the festival of Jhulan for SriSri Radha Krsna in Sri Vrindavan dham.

One of the reasons, SriSri Radha Krsna does unlimited pastimes is to attract our heart…and our acharyas have created these nice celebrations of these festivals so that we can get a glimpse of these pastimes and thus give our heart to SriSri Yugal Sarkar. One of these festivals is Jhulan Yatra. When the air in Vrindavan is humid and hot due to monsoon, a cool breeze is very pleasure giving. So in order to give cool breeze to the Queen of Vrindavan, Srimati Radharani, Jhulan festival is arranged. It is very nicely described in detail in ‘Sri Anand Vrindavan Champu’.

Temples in Vrindavan and devotees at their home, arrange for facility to swing SriSri Radha Krsna. This festival goes on for 5 days and at some places for 10 days. We can do as many days as we want or as much as SriSri Radha Sharadbihariji desires. In the upcoming Friday program we will arrange for the Jhulan festival of SriSri Radha Sharadbihariji.

Attached is some pictures of Jhulan Yatra in SriSri Radha Ramanji temple in Vrindavan. Even if we are not able to arrange a physical swing for SriSri Radha Krsna, atleast we should look at these pictures and mentally participate in Jhulan Yatra of SriSri Radha Ramanji in Vrindavan….

(My regular email is down so am using this email to send out the festival details)

your servant,
Padmanabh das
