Rādhārāṇī Braja Yatra 2012: Day 8 Kotvan, Chamelivan

Today we started from Rasoli. We went to Kotvan and Chamelivan.

Śrī Ramesh Bābājī Mahārāj was very pleased yesterday with Brajabāsīs who restored Rasoli, but today he was upset because he saw some construction in Chamelivan and mentioned that we have to make real arrangements to restore the original place. Kamervan and Domilvan have not been protected.

In the Garga Samhita and Matsya Puranas are slokas that give reference to Rādhārāṇīs desire that Govardhana, Vṛndāvana, and Yamunaji come here on this earth.

Śrī Kṛṣṇa said all the ‘acaryas’ from all the sampradāyas are My Form. So here at Maan Mandir we support all sampradāyas.

We will definitely win out battle for the Yamuna because Iskcon and the Vallabha sampradāya are coming together for Yamunaji’s protection.

Kotvan: Once Yasoda Maiya asked Śrī Kṛṣṇa, “I wish to see Your Rasa lila.” Kṛṣṇa said, “You cannot enter the rasa lila, but you can see.” Then from Kotvan, she could see the rasa lila of Rasoli.

Chamelivan is where Śrī Kṛṣṇa disappeared in the rasa dance SB 10.29.45-46, He shows the importance of Rādhā and witnesses the true love of the gopis. The SB 10.30.27 also confirms the reality behind His disappearance. Presently, one can find many beautiful tall winding trees here which give a hint of the majesty of the past.

In the Rasa Panchadhyayi, the five core heart chapters of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. The first 3 chapters cover Samyoga(union), and 2 remaining ones explain Viyoga (separation), the 5th chapter concludes with the cream of the Bhāgavatam.

To demonstrate the elevated status of the level separation we can look at certain histories. First there is Madhyavati who was in separation from her husband for 1,000 years. Then there was Damantya, whose experienced the feelings of thousand times that. Then Sitaji, in her separation from Lord Rāmā was 1,000 time greater than this. Then we come to the gopis , whose separation from Krsna was anataguna, millions of times beyond that.

In the Prema Patanatan grantha Vrindavan khanda chapter 77 sloka 9, we find the following description.

Viraha(separation) is the test of love. When Kṛṣṇa leaves gopis, in separation they experience the highest love for Him.

Rādhārāṇī and Kṛṣṇa do not know Their own sweetness(Madhurya). They only each others, however Vṛndāvana knows both. Kṛṣṇa gave this potency to Vṛndāvana dhama.

When the gopis saw that the foot prints show that He had disappeared with one special gopi, they were feeling such a strong feeling of separation, ananya radhika nunam, and at the same time they could understand importance of Rādhārāṇī and how ‘She’ is His beloved.

What separates us from God is papa. In Brahmā’s Brahmātva, the lila of stealing the gopas and cows, he had the ego that “I am the creator.” He stole all the cowherd calves and boys in a prideful mood and was mystified when he saw that they were all there on his return.

Śiva had to transcend his ‘manhood’ as a yogi in order to enter into the rasa lila.
Lakṣmī, when she thinks that she is the goddess and everything is dependent on her, Kṛṣṇa reciprocated by not allowing her to enter Braja lila.

In the rasa dance, the gopis made Kṛṣṇa dance, even Lakṣmī does not have that right. Just like when Jaganatha goes into the Gundica Mandir, Lakṣmī gets angry, but that is not pranay maan(real maan), she is not allowed such an elevated love.

Rādhārāṇīs Maan is on such a high level that even the gopis experienced that when He completely disappeared then the maha rasa began.

In the Yugal Gita, sloka 3, when Kṛṣṇa plays the flute even all the branches and vines respond to Kṛṣṇa’s presence, so many flowers and heavenly smells manifested. Usually bees collect honey but when He plays the flute even honey comes out from the vines.

There in Chamelivan, gopis are asking all thebranches, flowers etc, “Have you seen Kṛṣṇa?”

Once while Kṛṣṇa was herding the cows he goes quite far and arrives in Chamelivan(he sings a several hundred old bhajan by a true saint).

Here one gopi says today Śrī Kṛṣṇa, “Yasoda maiya sent your lunch with me, I have been looking for You for so long. I saw Charan Pahadi on my way and I am so tired.” Listening to her He goes toward her playing the flute. Kṛṣṇa places His nectar lips on the flute, and while listening to Him, she forgot her fatigue.

In one shatak Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa plant various trees and creepers in Braja.

In the Rāmāyaṇa also, Sitaji, Laxman, and Rāma plants trees and take care of them.

One should not destroy any plants, trees or forests in Braja.

Baba Śrī warned, “For one who cuts a tree in Braja the sinful reaction is great than killing a 100 cows.”

One who chants Rādhā Rādhā, even Indra, Yamarāja, Śrī Kṛṣṇa will protect them.

Jiva Gosvāmī gives the hidden meaning of Rādhā’s name in the maha mantra. In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam this hidden feature is described. Mahaprabhuji also revealed this fact.
